Duncan Kicks Off “Let’s Read! Let’s Move!” | ED.gov Blog

Secretary of Education Arne Duncan is touring the kicking off the Let’s Read! Let’s Move! initiative for the summer with a bang. He has merged the reading improvement with First Lady Michelle Obama‘s campaign to prevent childhood obesity, and is taking it to schools who are participating in the SIG (School Improvement Grant) program in St. Louis.     Such a great idea to combine the two things, reading and moving. Too often, I think, children separate out into the two camps very early on (the readers and the athletes), or are looked on as having done so, so getting students into both is wonderful. I’ll be looking out for updates!
